Baby Gate

We have a wood-burning stove, which we have embraced and decided to give a try this winter. The big worry with it is having Sam around it without getting burned. So Josh built this baby gate! He did a spectacular job. Now it just needs to be painted. What color?....oh the decisions...

Logan

We decided to drive up to Logan, to look at all the beautiful fall colors of the trees along the way. We were a few weeks late, so we saw all the leaves on the ground, but the drive was still pleasantly pretty. We drove up to the temple, which I have only ever imagined in my head. It was even more beautiful in real life. We walked around, let Sam play with all the flowers and dip her feet in the fountain of water, looked at all the beautiful plants that surround the majestic building, and sat hand in hand quietly as we both soaked up the spirit and reverence that is found there. And we took pictures of our adorable Sam.

We found a local restaurant, "where all the locals eat", and Angie's did not disappoint. I highly recommend going on a Friday afternoon and ordering their salmon. They bring it in fresh every Friday and only serve it then, and it is THE BEST salmon I have ever had! Josh even liked it alot, which is a big deal! I asked the waitress what seasonings they used, and she was very vague in her response....must be a secret. One I definitely want in on! It was perfectly seasoned, perfectly crispy, and perfectly salmon.

One of the millions of things I love about Josh is his sense of adventure. We took a different way home just to explore and enjoy the ride. He knows how to "slow down in life" and despite all the rush the world is in, he enjoys the moments that matter most, and I get to enjoy them right by his side. Which is my favorite place to be!

General Conference

I know General Conference was a while ago, but I still haven't posted anything about it. Mostly because I have been sick the last 2 weeks with some form of a bug or another. (No, I'm not pregnant). And my phone cord broke and wouldn't let me download any photos to the computer. So, now that both problems are resolved, here I am.

General Conference was SUPER GOOD. I definitely felt that most of the talks were written and given specifically for me. The spirit has touched my heart and once again testified of the truthfulness of the gospel.

Ben and Erin and their darling kids, Becky, and the Folks came and stayed with us for the weekend. I also got to see my roommate, Liz, for a brief evening. I relished in all the company we had, and wish we could do it more often.

I didn't get many pictures, but here are the few I did capture from this spectacular weekend.

11 Months

Sam is 11 months old! We were both puking up sick on her actual 11 month mark, so we're a few days late on the draw. But, we're better now, THANKFULLY! Sam is standing up on her own, but has yet to take her first step alone. She does, however, walk along furniture, and anything else she can hold onto. Her favorite word is "hey" and "dada". She likes cats, especially the ones that we see in our back yard in the afternoons. She makes a purring sound and tries to say "kitty", which sounds more like "itt itt". Everyday, she's less and less a fan of naptime (NOOOO!!!!!) two times a day. I don't know if I'm ready for that. She likes to eat big kid food, and likes to feed herself, which means M-E-S-S. She enjoys clapping, smiling with all 4 front teeth, being held, riding in the stroller, crawling around, climbing up stairs (still don't quite have the down part), and talking on the phone. She's overall a very happy and healthy baby.

Roofing and Women's Conference

Josh helped Nana and Grandad roof all weekend (last weekend) and so Sam and I were able to go to Rexburg and hang out. Sam got to meet my cousin, Alex Murphy, for the first time. He just recently got back from his mission. It was good to see him and catch up on everything new in his life. He's the cousin who taught me how to whistle, and who always has a joke or a smile up his sleeve.

Liz Clarke and I walked around Rexburg, enjoying the beauties of Idaho. Then I ventured to the Indian streets and visited the Thomas' and the McDonalds. Gosh, I am surrounded by so many amazing people!

Saturday night was the General Women's Broadcast, so while they finished up roofing, us girls watched it at Nana's. AMAZING is an understatement. I started to take notes and then stopped because I was trying to write down everything they were saying. So instead I just soaked up the spirit as much as I could and will definitely be re-reading it when the Ensign comes out in November. Every single talk was JUST FOR ME.

It was good to spend the weekend with Nana and Grandad. I sure love them!
