My Little Helper

Love, Aubrey

Family

I love my family. So much! I cannot express enough how much Josh means to me. He is my best friend, my confidant, my fellow adventurer, my rock, and I love him with my whole heart. And we have a precious baby girl who we are so in love with. Being a mom is hard, and I probably complain more than I should, but at the end of the day, I am SO THANKFUL for both of them in my life.

Enjoyable Hikes

Josh looked up hikes around the area, so we went and explored. We had a good time, enjoying the view and the smells and the colors and the company. I was telling Josh that I wish I could write about it in a way that makes the reader feel like they are there, so we spent the rest of the hike describing it in as much detail as we could, coming up with as many descriptive adjectives to make the colors and smells come to life for someone who wasn't there. Josh should be a poet, or at least the author of a blog. Anyway, maybe the pictures will help the reader join us on Birdsong Trail.

Taylin to the MTC

Taylin has been packed for a few weeks now, ready to go to the MTC. She left her bag at my house while she was in Georgia, since I'd be taking her to the airport. She had talked to a lot of missionaries who said they didn't start packing until the night before they were entering the MTC. (Procrastination?!)

Wednesday morning arrives, so Skyler me and Sam pick her up from the airport. She had some things in the bag that she needed to take out and re-arrange, so we open the luggage, and the zipper falls off! It's an old bag (that's lasted me all of college, and a good friend of mine took it on her mission) that's seen better days, but we didn't think today would be its last. But it was. AH!

We get to Provo and run (I'm serious, we were running!) into TJ-Max and Taylin purchases new luggage, with 45 minutes until she is supposed to be at the MTC. We quickly drive (safely, of course) to Sonic to grab a bite to eat before she leaves, and we are parked in the drive-in with her bags flung open transferring all her belongings to the new bags! It's 12:15 and she has to be there at 12:30, and we get her bags all packed, scarf down our food, take a few pictures with smiles that show zero amounts of stress or hurried-ness, and book it to the MTC.

So, to all those who say they don't pack until the night before....Taylin didn't pack until 15 minutes before entering the MTC. Beat that! Haha

It was so fun to see her get her bags and walk with a happy and confident smile into the MTC. She is a great missionary and will have a good time for the next 18 months as she serves the Lord in Roseville California! I'm glad that we were able to take her to Provo, as stressful as it was, we had a good time. And were pretty dang proud that we got her there with a few minutes to spare. So we got to take another picture at the MTC curb.

We love you, Taylin!

Hill Field Aerospace Museum

This place was SO COOL! I don't know much of anything about planes, but I was so enthralled and interested in all the different planes, choppers, bombs, missiles, and jets! Josh and I, and even Sam, really enjoyed looking at everything!

Cook Reunion Part 4

Family pictures! I was super excited about this because the last family picture was when I had a wedding dress on. I loved that day (actually, it's one of my favorite days in my whole life) but it was nice to get family pictures when the day wasn't all about me and Josh, with me in this center-of-attention big white dress.

Only one bee sting the whole time, but little Amelia still smiled for the pictures! Cook pictures was an overall success! :)

We had such a good time! I wrote all the details in my journal and Sam just woke up from a nap so I don't have time to write them all here, but it was sad to say goodbye and we are already looking forward to next time we are all together.
