At least I didn't get hit by a train

This past week has been quite the roller coaster. I’d like to think that I’m finally getting the hang of this mom thing…the whole lack of sleep part of it anyway. But there are days where the exhaustion plus the hormonal fluctuations collide and I have a not-so-good day. Well, Tuesday was like that. It never fails though that someone is always there to cheer me up. Today it was multiple people, some of my favorites in fact. Josh seems to have a keen awareness of what my needs are and seems to always know exactly what I need to hear. Taylin got home from work today and said she had her first write up for a medication error so it wasn’t the best day in her book and then she said some very wise words, “at least I didn’t get hit by a train. Every day is a good day because something always goes right.” Thanks, Taylin! And then my mom called and we talked for a while. She is always a source of comfort and strength to me, so that was a much needed phone call. Today I was reminded that life isn’t always a day at the beach but there is always something to smile about and be grateful for.

If it weren’t for Josh we’d be homeless come January. He has been looking very diligently for a place to live in Ogden, Utah. We are waiting to hear about a town house that we have put in the application for and also paid for a background check (so we’re 60 bucks invested into this house). My aunt and uncle (thanks Tiffannie and Danny!) drove from Kaysville to look at it and take pictures for us and give us their two cents about the place since it’s not one that Josh physically looked at while he was down there. Fingers crossed it all works out and we get the place.

Possibly our new home in Ogden :)

 The Christmas Devotional was amazing!

Sammy Jo is doing well. She's starting to smile when she's awake instead of just when she's drifting off into dreamland (because who wouldn't smile when they dream about milk) so that's fun to see. (Trying to get a picture of it...she's camera shy..) She's able to focus and follow object and holds eye contact for longer periods of time. I sent my mom a picture of her and her response hit it right on the nail (is that the right saying?!), "Her hair looks lighter, her cheeks look chubbier, and her hands no longer wear socks. Still the cutest baby in the world."

Thanks for the truck outfit, Skyler! :) Cause girls can wear trucks too!

Love, Aubrey
