The Steep Dead End

We found the beginning of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and started hiking. It was extremely steep. Finally, we reached the top where it flattens out, only to see a sign stating "Private Property" with a fence blocking the path. What?! Apparently we took the wrong path...the real trail curves around and through the canyon and we chose the one that went straight up, which was in fact not even a trail at all. But hey, it was a great workout, and provided a perfect view of Ogden in its entirety. We even saw our house! The weather was a bit nippy, and it started to sprinkle, so we headed back instead of continuing on the real trail. We had Sam bundled up nicely, but she is still getting over a cough and snotty nose, so we didn't want to aggravate that. She probably would have been happy to go longer...she just contently enjoys the ride the whole time we're hiking.

That doesn't even begin to capture how steep it was.

Can you find our house?!

I spy something that's white, with a green truck in the driveway, west of a field and barn with a green roof, next to a blue house.

Josh found a cool plant (of course) to add to Skyler's collection!

Josh likes to pretend he's taking a picture of me and Sam but really he takes it of himself making silly faces.

And then he finally turns the camera view around and gets one of us. :)

 Love, Aubrey
