Hallelujah!

I finished reading the Old Testament and now I'm reading the New Testament, which timing wise has worked out perfectly. I'm in Luke right now where Christ is performing miracles. I'll soon read about his Atonement and the glorious resurrection. I KNOW that Christ lives. I know that through Him we can experience new life. Hallelujah for Him!
Enjoy this video!

Happy Easter!

Meant to be a Cat

Sam has been getting the cat bowl and going in the greenhouse, filling the bowl with little rocks, and then shaking the bowl until the cats come. The poor cats are fooled every time, thinking they are being fed. So I went and got them a bowl of actual cat food. And then Sam taunts them by picking up the bowl, moving it, setting it down, and as soon as the cats get over to it, she picks it back up and walks off with it again. And then sometimes she even tries to be a cat, and eat out of the bowl with them. Here's what the felines thought of that tactic:

No worries, it didn't scratch her, just lobbed her in the head. Sam was not deterred in the least bit.

A Little Bit of Everything

Here's a little bit of everything from last week!
Sam loves being a big girl and sitting in her very own princess chair. She's also discovered that she can push it around the kitchen and use it to climb onto things.

All the snow is melted and she finds the last remnant of it. And gets her bum all cold and wet. Awesome.

Um, I still laugh so hard about this. This is from Anneka. Oh Anneka.

My old roommates Liz and Tee came down from Idaho for the weekend. Liz brought her fiance with her, Nathan. They got engaged last week! It was good to meet him and to hang out with my old roomies! Liz snapped this picture as they were leaving, the only picture from the whole weekend.

This is Josh for the next few months. Don't worry, he's completely healthy and sane. Haha. He's back to working long hours and 6 days a week, so some days have him like this, due to breaking machines.

I am so proud of my little journal writer.

Here lately, after Sam goes down for bed, we play the Wii. I'm getting pretty good at the games and even come close to beating him some times. :)

Blue and Gold

I am a cub scout wolf leader. We had the blue and gold banquet, which happens once a year, as a way to celebrate the scouts and the things that they have learned. The night was a total success, delicious dinner, great turn out, perfect amount of space, games, awards, and a really cool guy who gave a speech. He's been in scouts forever and a half, so he really kept the boys' attention and shared a great message about the important of scouting.

On my honor I will do my best
to do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the scout law;
to help other people at all times;
to keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

A scout is:
Trustworthy
Loyal
Helpful
Friendly
Courteous
Kind
Obedient
Cheerful
Thrifty
Brave
Clean
Reverent

New Life

There is something so precious and pure about newborns. Cierra and Andy were blessed with a perfect and healthy baby, Lexie. They are going to be amazing parents, I just know it! Lexie sure is a lucky girl. :)

Cook Get Together

Last month, Cali and James and their family came down from Washington, and along the way picked up Becky, and Erin and her kids came, and Josh and I drove up to Idaho, all journeyed to the Cook Home. What a WONDERFUL weekend that was. It's so nice to have everyone together. Rulan and Kathy are marvelous hosts, making us feel right at home. It's fun to see all the cousins interact and play together. The weekends just aren't long enough.

The guys made a sledding track and the kids had a great time sledding! Sam sat in the back corner of that sled THE WHOLE TIME. The other kids had their fun, came and went, rode and then would get out and build the snowman, go inside, or throw snowballs. But Sam was content and had a good time riding in that sled, up and down and back again. She's truly a winter girl. All of us were cold and ready to go inside, and when we took Sam out of the sled she protested, not having a care in the world that her fingers were red and probably numb.

Fun times!

Treehouse Museum

When I walked into the Treehouse Museum, I wanted nothing more than to be 8 years old. This place is heaven for anyone who is a kid and likes to learn and have fun! I learned a lot as Sam ran around to the different areas. They had a huge map of Utah with different facts about the place, they had a rodeo area where kids could ride mechanical bulls and horses (and wear the cowboy hat, too!), had a little farm with a life size cow that they could actually milk! There was a dinosaur corner, a picnic area, trains galore to play with, build-you-own-playground, a cafe, a hospital where they could be the doctors and do different activities with bones and muscles and babies and microscopes, a hero corner, fire station, an actual tree that climbs to the second floor, an area that features different countries and their cultures and histories. And these are just the ones that we browsed, briefly! There is a lot more, more than we could possibly discover in one trip! Sam had a good time! I had a BLAST! :)
Sam kept coming back to the picnic table. Gotta love the good plastic food. :)

There's Tasha showing Sam and Violet how to milk a cow. Way to go, Farmer Tasha!

We ran all over Utah today! What an adventure!

Provo Temple

The Provo City Temple is having an open house right now for anyone to walk through and see the beauty and reverence that is found in these special buildings. My favorite room was the instruction room with the paintings on the walls, they always take my breath away. I got this picture from lds.org, and it's a good picture, though it doesn't quite take my breath away like when I was standing close enough it was as if I were there in that colorful meadow, or in the midst of what I like to think of as Kolob.

Though Sam was quite fussy the whole time (nap time), it was a good experience and I'm thankful for the blessings of temples in our lives. I know that the ordinances and covenants made in holy temples are eternal and that I am blessed when I strive to live up to those covenants. I love to the see the temple.

XBOX360

Josh is a kid at heart. He has so much fun playing on the XBox with Savannah, Davis, and Ava...from Just Dance to Star Wars. Good times.

Here are some other gems from the week in Kaysville that we enjoyed so much!
